Roger has been a practicing social worker for nearly 30 years. He received his
undergraduate degree in Sociology and Psychology from the University of
Indianapolis and his Masters Degree in Social Work from Indiana University in 1977.

He is certified by the National Association of Social Workers (ACSW), licensed in
Indiana as a clinical social worker (LCSW), and is certified in addictions by the
Indiana Association for Addictions Counselors (ICAC 1).

Roger has provided counseling and administrative experience in the field of substance
abuse since 1977. Roger has extensive experience in residential and outpatient
settings, providing services to men, women, adolescents and individuals from all
walks of life and socio-economic backgrounds. In a mental health clinic Roger
provided individual and group (including intensive outpatient) counseling for adults,
including individuals with dual diagnosis. On a limited basis he provided treatment to
adolescents as well. He has administered and provided group and individual
counseling in a comprehensive treatment center that provided medical detox, a
20-bed residential treatment program for men and women, and outpatient services. In
a separate program, Roger directed and provided individual and group counseling in a
multi-level residential and outpatient treatment program. Services were targeted
specifically toward pregnant women.

Additional professional experiences include working in an emergency shelter with
individuals who were homeless (including individuals with mental health problems),
providing emergency assistance to individuals in poverty, counseling individuals who
were perpetrators and victims of domestic violence, and providing residential and
treatment services to individuals with developmental disabilities and their families.

Finally, Roger has 30 years experience working with adolescent youth in church,
recreational and juvenile justice settings.
